It's a scam. There are no email lotteries and you can't win a lottery you haven't entered and bought a ticket for. You'd be asked to pay fees and taxes before you can receive the imaginary prize. Sometimes you'd be sent a fake check and asked to pay the "taxes" back to the scammer by Western Union before you find out that the check was fake.
