Anyone heard of an appendectomy causing problems with TTC?

So, like many of the rest of us my day is largely consumed with researching conception on the internet. So, during my endeavor I have come across some websites that say that having an appendectomy puts you at "high risk" for infertility and basically can be counted as a reason to start fertility testing sooner than the one year mark. Anyone heard of this? I don't recall anyone telling me about all this when I had my surgery and it's scaring me to death!
